The few who share this view, they are the few who can’t do nothing right. But there is just one problem - ITS IMPOSSIBLE to explain. “what about the time you know you’re wrong, you sing the same sad song.” the narrator is trying to explain not only what he feels himself, but also shine a light to others that they are seeing things a certain way because of the predefined parameters they go into the situation with.

The whole “As long as you don’t bother me with all the things I don’t bother you with”. To me, the author is more of a “so what?” Approach. Yet, everybody frames these events as happening for a reason, because of something, and influencing the next thing. And just by having society agree upon these parameters, the narrow scope of what they actually portray is far from how the narrator feels. We are the few, to me, is about society forcing a set of definite circumstances. This is way off topic now, damn I’m rambling. And just being OK with the unknown and without answers. I think in a nutshell, “With Any Sort of Certainty” does a great job encapsulating the ambiguity of what is thought and what is fact. The afterlife (or lack thereof) is another theme. Perhaps I’m just projecting that and am completely wrong. Then I realized I was wrong again, and I don’t think he knows. Then I realized I was wrong and he is very anti religion. I do notice common themes in many of Tomas’s songs. I have a fairly different interpretation than many of these replies, and I think that is great! If not we're genuinely sorry for wasting your time) is felt by us and hopefully the love we put into this is felt by you too."

Know that the love you feel for what we do (this is, if that's the case. Until then, stay safe and be kind to one another. Maybe next time i'll be more lucid (as usual the sun will be rising soon). and that's why the bands not skreetlight skanifesto. Not sure if that makes any sense on paper, but i guess my point is don't rebel against the mainstream only to conform to the underground. it's a conscious decision to not appease the mainstream, but probably a more important one to not appease the genre you do actually reside in. the most obvious being the genre of music we play, especially in this day and age. the rest of the lyrics (chorus, etc) are in reference to the pride that comes as a by-product of being an underdog, another popular (if not overused) theme among these songs and those that came before them (and let's be honest, old dog, new tricks, etc.). it was disturbing to say the least and keeping up with the cases became a minor obsession. some of them turned up killed and/or worse.

anyway, it seemed like every other day a little girl was being kidnapped. but then you realize it's always happening, it's just that it becomes a 'thing' for the media to exploit for a while kind of like when they have those 'shark attack summers' that are really just slow news periods so they exploit something that happens regularly. it seems like this kind of horrible shit happens in waves or something. the middle chuck, the calm before the storm part, was written during a period of my time when little girls were being stolen from their homes and families by bad, bad people. for the record i no longer wish one of us would pass away, it was an excuse to see ghosts from the past that probably are best kept that way. The verses deal with a certain place I hold dear to my heart and how it feels to visit such a place when you're older and, well, not so innocent anymore. yet again a number of songs mushed into one long ass tune. It's ancient and I forget where it came from. I have a quote from Tomas talking about this song.
